Hello all!
Agility for singing requires balance. Specifically balance between the air pressure that you're creating, and the closure of the vocal folds. In vocal pedagogy this is the balance between sub glottic air pressure and vocal fold adduction.
The tricky part is that that relationship changes depending on where you are in your range.
I just finished a month of fundamentals on YouTube, and I'm going to start a new series focused on agility. Which is to say, it's going to focus on the balance in your voice.
I won't dwell on this on the channel, but that balance will help just about every other aspect of your singing, in addition to your agility. The initial videos are going to focus quite a lot on the application and practice of appoggio breath management. I'll be working appoggio practices into the vocalizations.
I hope that these practices serve you well and help you get the most out of your voices. I'll get more into specifics as we get into the month. Until then...
Thank you for being here! I appreciate you!
